WISH LIST

We want to hear from you! Obviously we can't please everyone nor do we have the time and money to fix everything ... and of course we already know Cosmothea 4.0 is not completed yet, so there are lots of holes here and there ... (so please don't mention them, at least not until we act like we're done with 4.0 or nearly there) but I thought it would be nice to have a Wishlist so that if there is something on the website that you would like to see and don't, or if you have an idea on how we can improve something, we can discuss it and see what we can come up with!

For example, if you would like to see changes in the forum, dice roller features, future fillable character sheet, Character Builder or website features, let us know your thoughts! Thanks! And of course if you find any broken links, glitches in the way the site operates, any suggestions or comments we'd like to hear those as well, so that we can do our best to provide you with a great online experience here at QT Games!

Seconded.
How far do we stand with cloning technology?

Ha, I think just having 1 of me might already be too much, but thanks for thinking of me! :D

Hmm, no clones then? I wish Bob had a troupe of zombie servants to help him get stuff done, except these ones would be intelligent and not get blood everywhere! Practically human workers minus the pay and slavery!

I've got a whole bunch of enhancements to suggest which will of course also push my post count up a bit :D But it's all good stuff 8-)

They are only suggestions I absolutely understand if you choose to implement none of them.

All of them I have implemented on the same type of forum as what I think this is (i.e. a phpBB version 3 forum) and so know they work.

Right the simplest ones first:

BBocde - Posting button to highlight a web address and when post is posted web address is shown as the actual web page view within the post:

In BBCode usage input box set to:
[website]{URL}[/website]

In BBCode HTML replacement input box set to:
<iframe src="{URL}" name="frame1" scrolling="auto" frameborder="no" align="center" height = "600px" width = "700px">
</iframe>

In BBCode Help line input box set to:
Allows embedding of anouther website in a post, just post a web site URL in a post, highlight it and press this.

Tick the "display on posting page".

BBocde - Show you tube video within a post:

In BBCode usage input box set to:
[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v={SIMPLETEXT}[/youtube]

In BBCode HTML replacement input box set to:
<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/{SIMPLETEXT}"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/{SIMPLETEXT}" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

In BBCode Help line input box set to:
Allows you to embed Youtube videos in your posts using the full URI of the video.

Tick the "display on posting page".

Neat little gadget to play an MP3 that is sitting at a web address from within a post:

1st thing to do is to download the gadget from:
http://www.pbpmap.com/images/scmp3player.zip

Unzip it then put it in your images folder within your forum code.

Then add BB code as follows

In BBCode usage input box set to:
[mp3]{URL}[/mp3]

In BBCode HTML replacement input box set to:
<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="images/scmp3player.swf" id="mp3player1" height="24" width="290">
<param name="movie" value="images/scmp3player.swf">
<param name="FlashVars" value="playerID=1&amp;bg=0x9DA5BF&amp;leftbg=0xeeeeee&amp;lefticon=0x666666&amp;rightbg=0x394670&amp;rightbghover=0x999999&amp;righticon=0xE7E7EF&amp;righticonhover=0xffffff&amp;text=0x666666&amp;slider=0x666666&amp;track=0xFFFFFF&amp;border=0x666666&amp;loader=0x9FFFB8&amp;loop=no&amp;autostart=no&amp;soundFile={URL}">
<param name="quality" value="high">
<param name="menu" value="false">
<param name="wmode" value="transparent">
</object>

In BBCode Help line input box set to:
Post the URL of the mp3 into the post, highlight it and press this button.

Tick the "display on posting page".

This is a biggy, a forum integrated dice roller that should work on this site.
It allows rolling of dice from within the posts themselves and the results are stored on the database and so remain persistent and even if the user goes to edit the post after a roll result is shown the roll result stays the same.

Of course as i'm sure you know always keep a backup of the forum code before trying this as I have known some not to be able to get it working. But it did work for me on a similar site although I took the code out of the private message stuff as that was not so stable. But dice rolling in the actual forums using it seems stable.

Once the mod has been done to roll a dice you just do something like (anywhere in a post):

[dice]1d20+7[/dice]

You can get it from:

http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 0&t=545565

If you want an example let me know and i'll show you a forum that has it integrated into it.
