January 2nd is almost upon us!

Mark your calendars, folks, as early pledging makes all the difference. No one likes to stand alone. They like to see that they are among many who agree with them that something is worth doing. If a ride at Disneyland has no one standing in the line, some will climb on board, but many will walk away, using the lack of participation as a barometer, assuming the ride couldn't be any fun. That's not an accurate assessment, but that's how people are. When people see that many are backing a cool concept, they have more confidence to back it themselves. And early backing also gains more attention for a project, which can also help it fund.

Even a dollar can make a big difference. If a bunch of people give even $1, that can often become the difference of reaching Kickstarter's home page free advertising or being lost in the shuffle. But it's not a large number of backers over the course of a project that is used to determine who gets the free, additional attention on their site, but how many backers (even at $1), stand behind a project in a single day.

Let's rock their website and push this thing over the edge folks! And if you can't afford $1, or are looking for ways of helping us gain more attention for this great project, tweeting and retweeting about it can make a huge difference too! We need to get the word out. We'll do all we can on our end, but we'll need your help too. Thanks so much for your support!!!

Someone on another forum asked about what genres are represented in the books:

Arcane Synthesis:
Voices: Mostly science fiction with psi powers, some superheroes and a little magic.
Spectre of War: Mostly science fiction, with mystery and magic.
Emeraldeaths: Superheroes in a fantasy realm - low-tech world with lots of magic and some monsters.
TBA (Ed Greenwood)
Wisdom of the Shell: Mostly fantasy, including the nature of magic. Includes some science fiction.
Down and Out in Magetown: Heavy blend of fantasy and science fiction.
Found Lost: Mostly fantasy with exploration and some science fiction elements.
The Train Less Traveled: Science fiction, fantasy, mystery, superheroes and horror.

Divine Synthesis:

Features stories about the gods and the mysterious GodStorm raging across the Cosmoverse. Somtimes a story might intersect with the lives of mortals on more civilized worlds and therefore you would have some science fiction. But even on some worlds with high technology, there may also be street mages and such. Some worlds are blended more than others, some are not blended at all, but all of our stories in these 2 anthologies will have some blending as that's the most common in the Cosmoverse.

I have a number of stories planned and in the works for Divine Synthesis, but we are still finalizing the other author's stories, except for Steven Schend's. He is writing a trilogy of short stories for QT Games. They will all be mostly fantasy, but as the Cosmoverse is a blended-genre multi-dimensional reality, you should never be surprised if other genres appear, when appropriate.

One thing to note regarding the roleplaying game and campaign setting I've been developing, and that is GM's can blend the genres to taste, to some degree. There are hundreds of worlds, various stages of development. It's not a melting pot universe. There are overarching storylines. Everything is there for a reason. i.e. it's not a generic universe or generic game, but if a GM wanted to run adventures on a fantasy genre world only, that would be easy to do. Same for other genres.

Here's a nifty little gizmo from Kicktraq. It isn't 100% accurate as it takes a good week or so to get a more accurate picture of things, and it can't analyze everything, but it should give you some useful intel!Image
